Named “Le 80″ (“The 80″) in recognition of the league’s 80th Anniversary, the ball features the names and championship years of the nineteen clubs that have won the league title on its panels. Now Adidas Le 80 in winter edition. It is the latest incarnation of the adidas Tango 12 ball used for the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League Final and EURO 2012. Football in the basic version launched at a meeting in the Trophée des Champions, which was held on 28 July in the United States. The match was contested by Montpellier, the 2011–12 Ligue 1 champions and Lyon, the winners of the 2011–12 edition of the Coupe de France. The match was played at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. Lyon captured its eighth Trophée des Champions and its first since 2007 after defeating Montpellier 4–2 on penalties. The match ended 2–2 in regular time with John Utaka and Emanuel Herrera scoring goals for Montpellier and Bafétimbi Gomis and Jimmy Briand converting for Lyon.
